Artist Molly Frances has worked as an Art Director, Stylist and Interior Designer and founded Daylight Dreams Editions in early 2014 as a way of bringing together work from a range of artists under one collective umbrella that teases the line between Fine Art, Design, and the Decorative Arts. DDE takes particular inspiration from the Omega Workshops, an early 20th Century Idealist design group in Britain, spun off from the Bloomsbury Group, that sought to allow artists, writers, and designers to take control of their own distribution outside of the established gallery and existing commercial systems, and break down the divisions between the fine and decorative arts.
DDE is led by a core group of highly skilled and creative artists and designers working out of our studio in Los Angeles, with ‘satellite’ artists that we work with nationally and internationally. We strive to offer unique artworks at the highest quality for the discerning collector. Our work is available as Framed Art or unframed prints.
Some pieces are attributed to the individual artist that created the work and other pieces are attributed to DDE Studio, depending on the context of the piece in the studio’s catalog and the artist’s wishes.
Most of our works are ‘Giclée’ prints – a type of fine art printing method that uses archival materials and fine art papers. DDE’s Giclees are printed on a top-of-the-line 12-ink Archival Pigment Wide-Format Fine Art Printer on heavyweight 100% cotton (tree free!) Fine Art Papers, typically 255gsm – 350gsm. Depending on the aesthetic of the edition, we may use a smooth rag natural or a textured velvet paper. Some editions have an additional application process (Hand-deckled edges, Silver or Gold leaf application, for example).
We ship framed prints in the continental U.S. and unframed prints worldwide.
